The Hermitage is great! The tour was very informational and given by people dressed in period clothing. The self guided tour of the grounds was very relaxing and really beautiful. I wasn't thrilled with the audiotour part so I dispensed with that, but there are lots of markers that you can read.

Need lots of time if you want to do this right. Off the beaten path as far as other Nashville attractions but worth the drive if your a history buff.

Very Interesting, but kind of pricey. Cost me $110 for the 5 of us and that included the horse drawn carriage ride. Most of the tour guides do a good job. The audio tour is excellent.

There is so much history that most of us do not know about our past presidents. This place takes you back in time and gives you the history of the man in his home setting. Very worthwhile place to visit. By grinandbrakeit.com

My husband and I visited as a morning activity when we went down to Bonnaroo. Having visited several presidential homes and birthplaces in our travels, we were interested to see this one. There are different options of tours with different fees attached. If you are an AAA or CAA member, you can save yourself a couple of dollars on each... More

An enjoyable but a little pricey attraction. We went to visit without taking lunch as we understood that there was a restaurant on site. It was closed???? If you have a little interest in history then this is a worthwhile visit. Excellent audio facilities. I get the feeling that the lives of the slaves that once lived on the site... More

My wife and i went on the general tour, which satisfied our curiosity. We mainly wanted to see what a plantation looked like and how it functioned, slaves and all. It was good to see the very specific info on the slaves. This aspect is lacking from many historic sites. It was also cool to see books on the trail... More

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for small children because they may get bored and there is a fair amount of walking outside. The tour starts with a video that was very informative. You proceed to a room of artifacts from the house. Then, you walk outside along the grounds up to the house. No photography inside. No where near as... More

I would always be interested in visiting an historic presidential home, so we decided to see this one. I'm sure it's a nice tour with great information but we didn't have the time to spend two or three hours on a guided tour. A short self-guided tour would have been great, but that option wasn't available. The home is in... More

This is a beautiful place with every kind of tree imaginable, some planted by Jackson himself according to the guide. The history presented is skewed as usual, aside from that you can learn a lot visually as this was a self sustaining plantation in the 1800's complete with with slave quarters, garden area, smokehouse and a mansion with handmade wallpaper....
