No trip to Nashville should be without a visit to the Ryman, birthplace of the Grand Ole Opera. Formerly a church the seating is in a half round and intimate. Be sure to look at a seating chart before selecting seats since many are obstructed.

This is a must see for all lovers of Country music. It is possible to do a self guided tour for $14 which is well worth the money. The acoustics in this building are second to none and to tread the same boards as Haqnk Williams, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton is a great feeling. The exhibits and history are... More

I love the history of this place! We went to the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman and Larry Gatlin was great. Crystal Gayle showed up that night! How lucky can you get?? Loved it!

What can be said about a visit to the Ryman Auditorium that hasn't already been said ? But, a visit to the Music City is not complete without visiting the Historic Ryman Auditorium. Take the time for a walk thru the main hall with exhibits of ther Country Music greats and a tour of the backstage area .. It's worth... More

If you ever get a chance you need to visit this historic place. Catch a show or take a tour or both. So much music history surrounds this place. You'll stand and stare at the famous stage in awe. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville and just a couple of blocks from Country Music Hall Of Fame & Museum.

See where it all began. The Ryman has a long history...from 1892. It served as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Watch the intro video and sit awhile to soak in how many have sat in the "church pew" seats, listening to their favorite performers. After many years of vacancy, it reopened in 1994 and... More

Our family of 5 sat in the balcony. Great seats! Loved the show. My husband and daughter took off one star due to the pew seating. They thought the seats were hard to sit on and too close to others-no leg room. Other than that, we really enjoyed showing our 3 teens the flavor of Nashville.

We took the day tour and found it very interesting. We enjoyed the film at the beginning giving us the context of the history. Very pleasant.

If you are a Country Music fan, this is the ultimate. The Ryman, where decades of Country Music Stars have played. This is not your modern kind of music hall. The Ryman was built in 1892, closed in the mid 1970's and re-opened. Saw Larry Gatlin, Mel Tillis and Lorrie Morgan on this night. Still a very informal atmosphere and... More
