The main entry gate was open and the thought of a tour into our history was beckoning. Unfortunately, the guard the gate didn't immediately share our enthusiasm and informed us that as an active military base we would need to join an official tour to gain entry. This was a very interesting place to visit. Our guide, Margaret, was very knowledgable, amusing and good with the several well behaved children who accompanied our group, asking them questions and keeping them interested in the history.

This really took me back to the 'olden days' as my daughter tends to say... Very interesting and I could sense the life here in early years so much more... worth a visit.
