Beechworth has some thirty beautiful historic buildings, many built from stone, that trace their origins back to the goldrush era in the mid-19th century. Well worth a visit. Very eerie to stand in the dock where New Kelly stood. Discovered a few things l didn't know about the history of the courthouse. Very knowledgeable staff/volunteers. More

The Beechworth township has a lot to offer the tourists who visit. Peak tourist season they have actors rein-acting the court case of Ned Kelly...take a seat in the gallery & you will be made to feel apart of it! More

As with most of Beechworth this is a lovely building. All of Beechworth is beautifully preserved and kept in very nice condition for tourists. Don't miss the town. More

The Beechworth Courthouse provides a fascinating insight into the history of colonial Australia. Along with the surrounding sights of the Historic precinct it shows a original look into the life of a town on the goldfields. Well worth a look. More

Until Federation in 1901, 'Australia' was a collection of colonies. The beautifully preserved Beechworth Courthouse may not be huge, but it is a relic of those times, dating from 1858.
