It was the middle of July, heat waves caused temperatures to spike above the nineties, and sweat dripped from the heads of those around me, there was, of course, only one solution to the scorching weather. I am referring to Norris Lake, Tennessee. My family owns a floating house on this Tennessee Lake that has provided, and still provides the... More

While in Knoxville for a seminar, my wife and I opted to stay at Norris Dam State Park instead of a hotel in town. While our trip was a bit of a whirlwind, we enjoyed the stay in our little cabin. Only about twenty minutes outside Knoxville, it is far enough from the next city to be quiet and rural,... More

Norris is truly a fantastic state park. It is a scaled down national park. The Lenoir museum is a must-see. The east campground is not well shaded and older but is very close to the rustic cabins and you can walk or bike out of your campsite to the lakeside trails. The west campground is well shaded, new and secluded.... More

My husband & I stayed for the weekend in celebration of our 1 year anniversary. I loved the lush vegetation on the hiking trails, the wildlife and our cabin. You should bring a bike, hiking shoes, a camera, a swim suit and food to grill. You can rent a pontoon boat, visit the threshing barn, or the Lenoir museum. They... More

It is very rare I find a place where the Hiking and Camping is on par with The Smokie Mountains National Park. Norris Dam State park is! Though they do not have the water hikes there they do have some great activities here! Very close to the Museum of the appilachians and two other great state parks and a wildlife... More

What a pleasant surprise! We spent three nights in one of the State Park AAA cabins, and it was wonderful. These cabins have three bedrooms, a kitchen that is truly fully furnished, central A/C, carpet, fireplace, etc. There was plenty of room, and the layout of the cabin was great. We spent two days on a pontoon boat, which we... More

NDSP has a lot to offer. You have a wide variety for the land lover: trails, recreational fields, camp and RV sites, cabins, swimming pool, picnic facilities, etc. If you enjoy the water, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to fish, swim, and take the boat out on Norris Lake. A couple of museum/visitor’s center is located on the premises. TVA... More
