I went in for a visit on Saturday after attending the International Biscuit Festival. Admission was only $5. Even though I only spent and hour or so, you could spend half a day looking at and reading the many interesting displays. This was probably my third visit, but it has been 3 or 4 years since I was last there... More

Everything here is real, the story of East Tennessee, the good and bad, it is something not to be missed, but can easily be missed because it gets very little exposure. More

Surprisingly interesting along several subject lines: Native American culture and history, life among settlers, pre-Revolutionary War era, Revolutionary War, Civil War, 20th century development, and others. Well-organized collection of antique items, drawings and photos. Highly educational. Draws on many personal journals and letters from all walks of life. Interesting for young and old alike. Free on Sunday. More

This museum contains many displays showing the past of Knoxville and East Tennessee. The recent Abraham Lincoln exhibit was very informative. Fun gift shop. Very low entrance fee. More
