Went with a group from a local Newcomers' Club. It was very interesting to hear about the history of the area and to see some of the original furnishings. This reconstruction of James White's fort is located quite near the site of the original. A great place for kids. Log cabins, antiques. Fires in stone fireplaces in the winter. A partially shaded central courtyard is a fine place to rest and is the scene for diverse events such as weddings and a Cherokee festival throughout the year. More

Have been here several times but must say, there is so much to see and do and the activities are always interesting. Will be going back for the 4th of July celebration at least if not before. More

First frame house, home of the founder of Knoxville. Well worth a visit especially if you like history. Would people an educational and fun visit if you have children. Gudes very friendly. More
