I asked at the Visitors Center where I should park and by luck found free parking near the area of the Sunsphere. I decided to eat a piece of fruit as I walked toward the attraction but soon realized that there were no trash cans at the park entry. After walking a bit I finally found a trash receptacle and... I first visited this Tower when it was a restaurant during the 1982 World's Fair and enjoyed it then. Have been back a few times when it has been open just for the Great View it affords you of downtown Knoxville. More

Built in 1982 for the World's Fair, this sphere is like a red-headed stepchild. It's potential for a world class restaurant or club has never been realized and one failed venue after another seem to follow. It's an interesting place to go, but once you've seen it, you really don't need to go again. The windows in the viewing area... More

My wife and I had our wedding reception here. The company (Cardinal Management) that manages and rents the event space was great and very easy to work with. Our contact was named Sara and she was very accommodating. We had a reception for 150 people (it evidently holds more than that) but we had a sit down dinner with a... More

First of all, the 1992 world Fair site is desserted = creepy. Then you have to get into this small elevator with no attendant; again creepy. You get to the top and there is no guide, no gift shop, nothin and no one = creepy. Someone should wash the windows !! Overall a creepy lonely experience. More

It's a giant gleaming tower. It has a great view of the city. It's free. These seem to me to be good enough reasons to go up into the Sunsphere and take a look around. :) More
