Carleton is a top notch tour guide and a true southern gentleman. You will not be disappointed. We did not want the tour to end!! Well worth the $15 for the nearly 2hrs of history we learned. More

First things first: Carlton is an amazing tour guide. I loved that he grew up in Chattanooga and included stories from his youth alongside detailed history from the Civil War and Civil Rights movement. Every building and monument carries a story with it and Carlton really brought each one to life. I can't recommend this tour enough! More

I've recently moved to the area and had a friend visiting from out of town, so I decided what a perfect time to take the sidewalk tour. Our tour guide Carlton was very informative, entertaining, and knowledgeable. As a native "Chattanoogan" he had a great blend of modern events, local history, personal flair, and great humor. We had a wonderful... More

If you enjoy seeing and learning while you walk, this tour is for you! My Guide was Carlton Thomas, a long-time resident of the Chattanooga area. As we took a leisurely stroll (for a 27 year-old) of the historic downtown he told us stories of centuries gone by and humored us with tales of his own up-bringing. The history covered... More

There are two tours and my husband and I took both of them - one the evening we arrived and the other the next day. Both guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a real treat to be with the them. It you love history, stories, architecture this is not to be missed. A walking tour really makes you... More

Although not officially open, Carleton took my husband and me on a walking tour of the Chattanooga downtown area. Wow! He knows the area, he makes it all come alive, and it is a great way to get to know the city. If you think this is boring, or not worth the time, you could not be more wrong! See... More

We experienced a great tour of down town Chattanooga as part of this very informative walking tour. Our tour guide had an excellent knowledge of the buildings we saw on our tour. As a native resident of the area, Mr. Thomas had a friendly yet very professional approach to sharing the stories behind each location on the 90 minute tour.... More

Our tour guide was Carlton Thomas, one of the owners of Chattanooga Sidewalk Tours. My boyfriend and I both love history and enjoy learning interesting "trivia" about areas we visit and Carlton did an outstanding job of integrating history and lore. We were fortunate enough to schedule a customized tour so we were able to outline our "must sees" and... More

I took the Bluffs and Bridges tour on a Friday night. I've lived in Chattanooga my whole life and had an absolute blast learning new things about the city. Krista did a great job of catering to our group, mixing in cool tidbits for both the adults and the kids in the crowd. I was impressed how so much information... More
