Are we there yet! It seems like its going to be a long drive and then you're there. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our vist. The trolley driver keeps you informed and entertained as you travel the rutted road through the plantation. Not too long and not too short. Our driver, sans, tour guide answered all our questions about... More

If you get the chance to visit the only tea plantation in America you should. The setting is absolutely perfect. The trolley tour is a must to learn exactly how the tea is grown and cut. Plenty of places to park if you drive, and easy to find. There is no restaurant or food so be sure to eat before... More

This is the plantation to visit due to it's absolute uniqueness. It is educational and memorable. The parking is very easy--park and walk a short distance. One thing missing--food! Don't go hungry. There's all you can drink cold and hot tea which made me kind of more hungry. I bought a few gift items and included a tiny almond crunch... More

The only tea growers in the USA are located outside the City of Charleston, SC on Wadmalaw Island. The drive to the tea plantation is beautiful - water, trees, birds, farms, and lots and lots of natural beauty. The plantation itself is approximately 170 well-maintained acres. The visitors center next to the parking area is staffed by friendly and helpful... More

I'm glad we did not go out of the way for this, but stopped by on our way from Beaufort to Charleston. The place is interesting, but everything seems to revolve around the gift shop, which is cutesy and overpriced. We were offered free samples of different teas, which either were not brewed properly or were just not very flavorful.... More

We found America's only tea plantation to be a very enjoyable and educational trip. I always wondered how tea was grown and made into the word's secon favorite beverage. We highly recommend it for your must see list. There is not an entrance fee but you must take the $10 trolley tour to really learn about the tea plantation and... More

Know how tea is made? Do you know that the only North American tea plantation is located in the low country of SC? This is a great place to visit. Great place to take the kids and learn something in the process. Factory tour is free, horticultural (tea fields) has a $10 adult charge for the trolley. Go in the... More

We very much so enjoyed our trip out to Wadmalaw Island. We grouped all of our attractions on that island together. Our favorite one was the tea plantation. We learned a lot about tea and enjoyed shopping in their gift shop. The tea is very good and they have a wide selection. There was a very nice video factory tour... More

We decided to go to the Tea Plantation after learning that Firefly Distillery (right down the road) uses their tea leaves for their Sweet Tea liquors. Some employees at the Distillery suggested that we visit the Tea Plantation, so we did! We really enjoyed ourselves & learned a lot. They provide a variety of teas for you to taste &... More

We drove to this somewhat remote island (Wadmalaw) across the harbor from Charleston to get to the plantation, but it was worth it! Fascinating to do the trolley tour ($10 each) around the 127 acre farm with a stop along the way at the state of the art greenhouse, where tea plant propagation takes place. This is the only place...
