We just went today. It was so wonderful that I couldn't wait to tell all! My husband, me and out three children participated in a private tour. We did the plantation and saw gators, dolphins and collected seashells on an island. It was absolutely amazing! Captain Rod is phenomenal! My toddler got fussy and he was very kind and understanding.... More

Cap'n Rod's tours were recommended to us by a local in Myrtle Beach, which is an easy 45 minute drive north of Georgetown. Georgetown itself is a quaint little town with a lot of Southern history. Cap'n Rod not only grew up in the area, he made his living working on boats as a young man and was a history... More

Fabulous tour of rice plantations and a mini tour conducted at a State owned plantation by a naturalist from the Department of Natural Resources; he had snakes and baby alligator, which the kids loved. Great break from sun and sand More

We had a great time on our boat tour and island stop. The captain and his mate were friendly, informative and very helpful. Showed us where to find the best sea shells. I would recomend this tour for anyone...great price, lots of fun. More

Captain Doug and Luke gave us an awesome afternoon's tour of the area plantations, lighthouse, and a shell covered island. We were two locals and two from out of state and all of us had a great time. Captain Doug is very knowledgeable about local history. He shared his knowledge in a very interesting and humorous way. We highly recommend... More

This is a fabulous cruise. "Cap'n Rod" is very entertaining. Agree entirely with madmag65. Cap'n Rod grew up in the area. He is a real character and is very good at telling stories. We stopped at a plantation and got to walk around with a very enthusiastic naturalist. More

Captain Doug and his trusty assistant took us on an awesome 4-hour combination tour of lighthouse/shelling, plantation homes, and other historical facts about Georgetown, SC and the surrounding area. They provided us with some history that you probably won't read in books, the story about the ghost of the lighthouse and sinking of the Harvest Moon ship, among other things.... More

Wife and I were excited to see PLANTATION HOMES.....only saw 3 thru the marsh and trees. They took us to a island with a inaccessible lighthouse and spent an hour looking for shells and driftwood.Could have done that at the hotel. We did see a gator or two, a eagle and two dolphins. Don't quite know what we would have spent... More

You should call for reservations at least a day before you want to take this tour. Cost for my wife and me was $30 each. Normally two trips are made a day but the weather forecast was for afternoon thunderstorms so there was only one trip scheduled for Friday. We pulled out at 9 AM with 30 of us on... More
