I was pleasantly surprised to see a Picasso exhibit that was temporarily there from another museum. Spent a good 90 minutes here. Very nice.

Beautiful setting for a nice collection. Giant Chihuly art glass chandelier in lobby. Traditional art and decorative arts in permanent collection. Rotating shows have recently been outstanding. This museum has a lot going for it.
This is one of the nicest museums in the Southeast. The permanent exhibits are well organized and flow in a timeline fashion. The collection is varied and the commentary excellent. The staff is most helpful, too. Great value for the price.
This is a well curated, reasonably priced museum that delivers on artistic value. We went to see the recent major traveling exhibition "Impressionism from Monet to Matisse." not much of an art fanatic but the museum is filled with a large variety of works from many famous artists. from time to time, touring pieces will stop by in the museum to be seen (most recently Matisse and Monet pieces)
This was my first trip. I was impressed at the scope of the collection and how the curator chose good examples of different time periods.
Being able to see up close how Botticelli put details on things as small as a man's toenails or the Ave Maria written in the hem of Mary's robe was awesome.
I couldnt join this...

The Impressionist show has Matisse, Gauguin, Renoir, Degas, Monet and more. I did not do the guided tour but I felt the explanations on the wall next to the paintings were informative. We...

Our boys enjoyed the impressionist exhibit after a long day on the baseball field. Two hours just enough.. Don't forget to look 'up' when you are purchasing your tickets.
This is a great place to stop on a rainy day, or if you just love art. The museum is just large enough to get a pretty thorough review of the entire museum on a day.
During our recent visit there was a very good special exhibit on Impressionism "Monet to Matisse". The collection may be a small step below...

The show had some excellent pieces John Singer Sargent, Pissaro, Monet, Boudin, Matisse and many others. Great presentation of impressionist periods and artists influenced by that period.
