Tommy Dew does a remarkable job on this 2 hr. tour. The guy has an unbelievable knowledge of the history of the south and particularly Charleston. Pay no attention to the very few negative reviews, this tour was worth every cent.

This was the best tour of our trip to the GA/SC area. Mr. Dew provided a lot of history and everyone really enjoyed the tour. There were no gimmicks. He came recommended from our hotel's concierge. There are bathrooms available where the tour starts at the Daughters of the American Revolution building.

Our concierge booked us a walking tour with Tommy Dew. Luckily Charleston limits the number of people that can be on a tour at one time so we didn't have more than 15 or so people in our group. Tommy gave us a wonderful perspective on Charleston. He's a transplant from Virginia but he went to college here and has...

We took a historic walking tour with Tommy and were thrilled with his knowledge and professionalism. We were a small group (3) due to some "no shows", which of course meant less income for Tommy. Our tour went over the budgeted time, as Tommy answered questions and engaged in discussion with our group members. It was easy to tell that...

Tommy met us at 11AM in front of the Market on Meeting Street. His brochure was in the hotel lobby. When we arrived there were 16 people in all, and one woman was from Charleston and had heard him before so she had brought her college age nieces to hear his walking lecture on Revolutionary and Civil War history. We...

Even in the rain, Tommy Dew knew his stuff. Like where to get shelter..while telling in depth stories of the old South Charleston style. From the early settlers driven by religious freedom through modern zoning laws, Tommy knows and loves his city.

This was the first time we visited Charleston, SC. The Bed and Breakfast we stayed in reserved a Walking Tour with Tommy Dew. Mr. Dew was so knowlegeable about the area we never lost interest in what he was telling us. We were like sponges trying to absorb all the information he was giving us. He kept asking if any...

As a person who gives Walking Tours in the North, I am quite critical of tour guides. But I wasn't disappointed in Tommy Dew's tour of Charleston. Instead of running us all over town, he focused on a limited number of spots where he seamlessly wove historical stories covering over 200 years of history. Unlike former reviews on Trip Advisor,...

Tommy Dew's walking tour was one of the best walking tours I have ever taken. We wish that we had more time to take more of his tours. The history and perspective he gave us of Charleston was great. We both know and love history, but we still learned all kinds of new and interesting perspectives. I can't wait for...
