Beautiful setting, very historic, easy drive. Oak trees and Spanish moss added to its natural beauty. More

The national cemetery's main feature is a landscape plan in which the burial sections are arranged in the shape of a half-circle with roads arranged like the spokes of a wheel. The original interments were of Union soldiers who died in nearby Union hospitals during the occupation and were initially buried in one of several places. About 2,800 remains were... More

I was just passing by and happened to see the large moss filled trees behind the long brick wall and decided to check it out. Once inside I realized it was the national cemetery and was blown away by how beautiful it was. I know it sounds strange to say that about a cemetery, but it really it. The old... More

I enjoyed strolling thru this cemetery. I looked thru the book at the entrance to find people I wanted to locate. Found the Great Santini" and the grave a long lost relative from civil war days from the north buried there. Interesting. More

Walk through the quiet tree-filled cemetery and visit the grave sites of soldiers from all wars the US was in. On Veterans Day it is full of American flags. More

I walked in the cemetary and looked around and a nice man came out of the house and explained the whole thing to me. Stop in there and get their printed map. Very nice national cemetary, not quite like Arlington, but very nice More
