This was our first time with this carriage tour company. They had tours leaving at a good pace so it was convenient and we hardly waited. The horse was slow which was good as we got A LOT of history and information during the tour. After the tour, we walked or drove to some of the points of interest that... More

Our guide was very informative and funny. She knew a lot of little known facts about the history of the area.

Southurn Rose Buggy Tours was a lot of fun. Our guide was warm and friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Beaufort. The tour lasted about an hour and gave us glimpses of places that we walked to later in the day. A must do to get an overview of the town.

First tour of the day, before the heat set in. Our horse 'Jake' and driver were fresh and ready to take us on a tour. The tour was about an hour, give or take how long it took Jake to decide to cross some intersections (LOL). We learned about many of the historic houses, the history of the are and... More

The people with Southurn Rose could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We really wanted to do a buggy tour but didn't want to leave our dog in our hotel, so we asked if he could come along. They said sure, as long as he doesn't bark (which I'm assuming would disturb the horse). So we were able to... More

Just returned from Beautiful Beaufort South Carolina. We took a buggy tour with Southurn Rose tours. Lovely day to be outside and great tour of the historic district, including the lovely homes on "the point". Our buggy was pulled by "Newman" and our guide was a native of the area. Our group of 4 loved both. Good value for the... More

We had a group of eight women, most of the group didn't know much about Beaufort history. This was very informative, relaxing, and the driver did everything to make us comfortable, including blankets on a very chilly morning. Another woman joined the group, and we did not feel cramped on the spacious wagon pulled by only one horse. The driver... More

Take this tour -- it is an excellent combination of facts and insight. unlike some carriage tours where the driver feels compelled, for whatever reason, to 'entertain' you, our driver did not. he let the town tell the story and what a great story. I have traveled to Beaufort for over twenty years and did not know the background the... More

Horse and buggy tours are usually not at the top of my list of touristy-to-do things, but we stopped in Beaufort for just a short visit on the way to Savannah and it seemed a good way to get an overview of the town. It turned out to be a great way to learn about the town and its history.... More

We went on the buggy tour yesterday. Although it was cool outside we were given blankets to keep warm. The horses are well loved and cared for. The driver was also a great guide and talked about the history & homes for the whole hour. I have been on a few buggy rides and this was definately THE BEST. The... More
