We come camping here every year and love it here. You feel like your at home the minute you get here and don't want to ever leave.
The lighthouse and surrounding buildings have been adorned with historic markers and information boards. A trip here is to step back in time and see how life was when the lighthouse was working and signaling ships. Right in the state park, there is the beach to visit as well. Enjoy it all!
We stayed in Beaufort for a couple of days and on the second day from over to Hunting Island State Park and visited the lighthouse. The park itself is nice and so many palmetto plants along the drive in. The light house itself is easily accessible from the parking lot and is interesting. You can take a nice photo of... More
$5 for the park and $2 for the lighthouse is a steal. Everything is clean and well kept and the information in the related buildings about the lighthouse keepers, their jobs and their families is very interesting. The view from the top of the lighthouse is beautiful. It was quite windy the day I went so those fearful of heights... More

While the lighthouse and it's history are well worth the trip, don't miss out seeing the rest of the park. Beach is spacious and there are nice shaded areas with picnic tables where you can bring your grill to cook. But, best of all, this is a park where efforts are made to preserve the natural beauty of the coastal... More
I liked there were interesting exhibits on each landing as you made your way to the top. The small buildings surrounding where the original house stood had interesting artifacts and stories too. Well worth the $2 fee to go to the top of the lighthouse.

The lighthouse itself is an easy climb (167 steps) with each level offering a little history about the place. The architecture is amazing and the view from the top is worth the... More
