My 8 year old granddaughter wanted me to take her to the Aviary for her birthday so I took her and my stepdaughter last Sunday. Cost for 2 adults and 1 child was $37. Also no parking lot that I saw but metered parking was close by, put $2.00 worth of quarters in the meter for 2 hours parking. No... More

First time visiting in all my year coming to the Burgh. Little pricey for a family outing, but very informative and helpful staff. Plan on an hour and a half to two hour w/ lots to see. Parking kinda limited.

I visited the National Aviary for the first time on a Sunday just a few weeks ago. Even though, I am not a bird watcher, as I prefer hobbies that involve more action and excitement, I still thought the aviary might be a neat place to check out. The line to get in and pay was short with just two... More

The interactive show led by the staff was excellent- lots to see and do as a couple or with your family. Highly recommend.

The exhibits were very cool. They have some different themes like wetlands and tropical rainforest. There was a really cool penguin exhibit that you could get up close and personal with the penguins and they have some huge eagles. They also have feedings every hour which is really neat.

The National Aviary on Pittsburgh's North Side is well worth a visit. There are lots of tropical and colorful birds to see in several rooms, as well as a penguin exhibit where you can see the penguins up close and maybe even get a chance to help feed them. Plan on a 2-3 hour visit.

I had occasion to visit our Aviary in North Side this week. Have know it was there but never took the time to go and see. What a loss on my part! This place is wonderful and such a great place to take the children. Many species of birds that you can see from a close distance. There are bald... More

Who knew Pittsburgh had such a wonderful exhibit ! Really enjoyed the penguins and the finches. Also, having a peek into where they feed and care for the birds was really nice. Would have enjoyed more of that. Not exactly the cheapest of things to do. But it was a very well done and clean establishment and the birds looked... More

Pleasant experience, skip the special one on one type things, it's more of a learning experience than anything else. Did the penguin experience and the penguin just stood on the table, then we got pictures.

I love the aviary, so relaxing and interesting at the same time. The penguin exhibit is very fun, and you get a full view of most birds, because they are all open air exhibits (ie, they fly around while you watch) Never too croweded even on a weekend, and vert family friendly. Go to the Lorikeets exhibit and pay $3... More
