I was at the University of Pittsburgh for a meeting and walked here during lunch one day. I wish I had a whole day to spend - the grounds are just beautiful and the building truly a jewel in the city. And, it is free to walk around. More

The entrance to Phipps has been rebuilt over the past few years and is very nice with an excellent gift shop and eatery which features many healthy choices but is a little pricey. There aren't any other food choices within easy walking distance of the Conservatory. Expect to spend about 3-4 hours here. There are many kid-friendly activities but in... More

Phipps Conservatory is now, since the unfortunate demise of our beloved Civic Arena, nothing less than the most important building in the City of Pittsburgh. An absolutely breath-taking Victorian Glass House, situated at the entrance to beautiful Schenley Park, in Pittsburgh's Oakland (university/medical) section, Phipps offers both seasonal and permanent botanical displays in one of the nation's greenest settings. There... More

Phipp's Conservatory is located in Schenley Park. The conservatory has a grand entrance made of glass. Inside there are a variety of plant exhibits that ranged from a desert, to butterfly garden to children's garden plus many more. Now, Phipp's cannot be compared to the more grandiose Longwood Gardens located near Philadelphia, but it is still a nice walk. You'll... More

Very interesting - and beautifully themed "rooms". The themes change regularly - so even if you have been there before - go back - it is a whole new experience. More

They change the layout for the four seasons. Always something new to look at. The fuel cell exhibit never runs. Always well maintained and clean. More

The displays were impressive, especially the orchids. I also liked the art glass mingled in with the greenery. I went in the morning and left before lunch, but the cafe looked really good. More
