The house was closed when we got there (the sign at the entrance was misleading -- there are only tours, at least when we were there, on weekends) but the interpreter was very nice and answered our enthusiastic questions. I think one needs to get a tour/explanation in order to appreciate the history and the Pinchot family. Grounds and architecture... More

AMAZING, this place we walked to after dinner at Apple Valley . This is an amazing castle where the governor was and it is a must see. More

nice place to stop and spend an hour or 2 checking out the grounds of the 1st US head of Agriculture. He had a outside eating area with a pool like table where people floated food to each other and flowers floated ,etc ...pretty cool More

This place is absolutely a must. Please visit on a nice summer's day. The views are spectacular and it is such a cool part of history. Try to go on a day when they open up the whole house for touring, then you can really take in the views and glory of the castle! More
