Beautiful house, went upstairs and could hear a screaming cry of a baby, I thought there was children outside but as I went outside on the varandah, the cry stopped, I came back inside and it had started again, Also had taken photos around the House and the barn out back had a shadow figure near the furniture.......It is Haunted... After a long awaited trip, both my sister and myself went to Monte Cristo for a ghost tour and overnight stay on a Saturday night. Reg and Olive welcomed us and the rest of our group into their home without hesitation and for us, it was thoroughly an enjoyable stay. The people in our group were great, the home cooked... More

We were disappointed by the homestead, thouigh the owners were very friendly and it is very cheap ($6pp) to visit. Obvioulsy a lot of work has been done in the past (decades ago maybe) to save the crumbling buildings but they are crumbling again - hopefully an organisation like the National Trust will take it over. The grounds are well... More

Visited the homestead while my fiance and I were travelling through junee. The cost was a mere $12 entry and you walk through the main home and inside the carriage houses, caretakers cottage out the back. I found the house to be gorgeous and it was nice to wander through seeing original and antique furnishings. It would've been interesting to... More

I was given a tour and overnight stay for a birthday present by my wife in Feb. I did all the research and even though I have had an experience or two of my own with the paranormal, I went to Monte Cristo with a skeptics view. I needed to experience 'ghostly activity' on the property first hand in order... More

Good to see this place for a reasonable cost. As we went late just in before the closing time and unable to spend long time. But definitely this one is worth to see it if you are in Junee. More

I truly enjoyed my experience at Monte Cristo Homestead. The house has been brought back to it's former glory. But, no, I didn't see any ghosts. More

I have long been aware of Monte Cristo and the basic history of its revival and ghost stories. I finally got to travel to Junee to see this place on Australia Day. Sure enough, Reg came to meet us in the entrance and we discussed the incidents and experiences people have had. He is certainly very interested in this aspect... More

Let's face it; this homestead is better known for the hauntings rather than the loving restoration work carried out by the current owners for over 48 years. It has been their life long mission and they felt called here to do it, according to one owner we met here. Entry costs $9.50 p/p and if you want a good history... More

Restoration has been terrific. The rooms are kept in the Victorian era. The vintage coaches could do with a little love and work. More
