Style surfing was recommended to us by a friend who convinced us to go and to take our kids (aged 6 and 8) along. I was hesitant, thinking it would be geared more towards backpackers (who would be younger than us and less keen on our kids in tow), but I am so glad we did it! The instructor was... More

The teachers are super rad, friendly and will get you up and surfing in no time! I went back for three lessons, and it was amazing! They will supply you with everything you need, just show up and you will have a blast! Whoop whoop- do it.

I was picked up by Gaz at Style surfing along with other guests and he took us to a quiet part of the beach with perfect small waves, we all had our rash vests provided and wetsuits for those who wanted them, we did some stretches before Gaz gave us a great lesson on the beach on how to surf,... We booked through Village Backpackers and were so happy they recommended it! Gaz picked us up and gave us the best lesson. I'm adventurous but had never surfed and was nervous I wouldn't be able to stand up on the board. Gaz gave us a great lesson and told us we'd be up on the first wave. I had my... More

My first time even contemplating surfing and now I can't wait to do it again! Gaz and Rhys made you feel comfortable straight away with their sense of humour and relaxed approach. Instructions were really thorough and they made sure everyone got involved. Would definitely go back. Rhys for the win!

We did a morning surfing class with Style surfing school. Both my partner and I very beginners (never been on a board before) and very different body stature (he is 6"3,85kg, I am below 160cm and 45kg). We had very good personalised advise, different size board, the teacher could tell I would be cold in the water so gave me... More

What a great time we had with Gaz from style surfing school! We were picked up from accommodation and headed down to clarkes beach at byron. They supply everything including wetsuits, sunscreen and water. He gives you a really good run down of what to do on the sand before you take to the water, then you have the next... More

The surf instructor was funny, laid back and an excellent and encouraging teacher. Out teenage children had a fantastic time and were standing on their surfboard and surfing within an hour. Worth the money.
