The brewery is normally a bustling place with people hard at work making many kinds of beers and ales. Unfortunately, our tour took place on a Saturday and the brewery was not in production. In addition, part of the plant was closed and so we could not view the entire process. Our guide was enthusiastic as well as apologetic but... More

I have visited several breweries, so as we were in Cornwall it was natural to visit the St Austell brewery, as it is THE brewery in Cornwall. Booking the tour was very easy by telephone and the cost was very cheap for the tour and some free samples of their beer. We were pre-warned that the tour did take in... More

Last week two friends and I, after many visits to Cornwall, finally visited the St Austell Brewery. This was something that we had meant to do for years, but beaches, barbecues, wives and children had managed to thwart every attempt – until now. Our expectations of the ‘Tour of the Brewery’ were so poorly matched to the reality; We had... More

St Austell Brewery produces some of the finest beers in the UK.The brewery is a fascinating place to visit. We received a warm welcome from the staff on arrival and throughout our visit. We enjoyed an excellent lunch in the bar before our 1 ½ hour tour. Our guide was cheerful and knowledgeable and served us all various beers to... More

What a lovely time we had here. We didn't do the tour but we sampled and supped a couple of halves at the bar. Very nice. The menu looked lovely. We were booked in somewhere else for lunch but decided not to have a dessert and went back for a Cornish cream tea. We were so glad we did. It... More

I had booked a special evening visit for our group of 19, and we stayed at nearby White Hart so no problem about how much we could sample. With first drink in hand, guide David talked us through the brewery history before we embarked on the tour. Yes it does involve quite a lot of steps, but you need to... More

Where do I start, the staff were extra helpful and polite, I was booked on the tour but hadnt time for lunch so the kitchen sorted me out with a quick pasty, something to line the stomach. The tour was very informative and the tour guide Ann was very knowledgeable and kept the group entertained throughout. Then on to the... More

We really enjoyed our visit around the brewery, arriving on spec and being able to book a couple of places on the next tour (3pm). We were initially shown around the museum, where a brief history was given before being shown around the brewery proper by a very informative and pleasant guide (called Nick), The tour costs £8 pp and...
