So you've got a mid-week day off from work, the suns shining and heck, no house ever fell down because it needed dusting so what's a girl to do?? Answer - put hubby, dog and one normally housebound dad in the car and head for the sea. Had this beach recommended by a workmate as being good for dogs so...

Cheap parking only £2.50 all day. Handy little van selling snacks/drinks ice creams etc and free toilets close by. Beach is lovely and you can walk all the way along to Bridlington if you want to.
This beach is long and wide, flat and excellent for walking dogs. There are often wind surfers around other beach sports. You'll need to approach via a farm (just follow the signs from the bridlington road) and there is a reasonable charge of about £2 to park on the farm owned land. You'll then need to scramble a bit down...

Cliff top parking, on farmer's land, very good value (£2.50 for the day) . Benefit of the sea side at it's simple best. We liked the fact that there are no artificial attractions, but there are some toilets handy. Otherwise, its just you, the sand and the sea. But you can drive close up and park your car to enjoy...

Took the dog to this beach today after reading a lot about it online. Had a great day, the perfect place to take the dog, she could run for miles. Only downside was near the end of the beach is a boat launching area where tractors were up and down the ramp which was a little bit worrying with my...

We wanted a few hours out on the beach and as most resorts have a May-September ban saw Fraisthorpe on the internet. It was a delight. Lots of friendly and responsible dog walkers (OK most were off the lead but we saw no problems with that and the dogs seem to be having a whale of a time). We ended...

We have been going to Fraisthorpe for over 30 years .. the children loved it when they were little.. Park the car for the day, easy access to the beach and nothing to spend money on so the children cant be nattering to spend money on sweets or amusements. I now take my grandchildren. Also great in winter but wrap...

we went here as a large extended family group for a day out and had a lovely time. Unfortunately on the day we chose to go it turned quite chilly and windy as the day went on so we had to go home early but we will definitely to be going back
If you prefer a quiet, non-commercial beach this is the one for you. Off the beaten track, the access is down a farm lane to a small car park (just atop the dunes). A small fee is payable for parking but it's well worth it. We have used this beach to have romantic strolls/picnics, taken the kids for a cheap...
