Last week we walked from Indian Beach to the top of Tillamook Head. This is a 2 1/2 mile loop that is extremely up hill half the way. Take lot's of water. The views are worth the hike. It meandors through a virgin forest. If I were to do it again, I would take the trail along the beach cliff... More

We went hiking on this trail on a overcast day and it was great because you are in the forest and the trees umbrella you. Going up is fun and coming down is fast. Alittle muddy in parts, wear your boots

Tried this hike yesterday thinking it might be dryer since there has been little rain lately. It is pretty dry for the first two miles, then the mud starts. We turned back at 2.5 miles because we weren't wearing the right gear. Beautiful through the woods, very serene and not crowded.

Very muddy year round. Harder hike they one would expect due to the mud and slop. Alot of fun. Not ideal for small kids or clumsey dogs.

A friend and I did the full hike from Seaside, right into Cannon Beach. A fantastic way to start the day. We hiked the first portion of the trail until we got to the campsite. After checking out the old lighthouse viewpoint, we ran the rest of the trail into Cannon Beach. Definitely a good workout. Mit took us a... More

I have been hiking the Tillamook Head - Indian Beach trail for 20 years and always come away with feelings of awe. The towering, ancient hemlocks and superb views are unforgettable. Sadly, the trail has not been well maintained over the last 10 years, and parts of it are quickly eroding. In areas where there are switchbacks, hikers have carved... More

Muddy but it's worth to walk among such a great forest. If you REALLY love hiking this is your trail. Not crowded, it's clean and quiet. The trail drives you through a wet forest, if you're lucky probably you'll walk among clouds which will make your experience almost mystical. Advice: don't forget a second pair of shoes and (dry) socks.... More

The mud was horrible going from Ecola to Indian Beach. I ended up turning around and driving the car to Indian Beach and continuing. Not only was it muddy but it was scarry narrow and no room for error in one spot or you could fall a long ways down. They don't tell you this when you inquire at the... More

Trees that are thousands of years old- amazing views of the Pacific Ocean- 1000 foot elevation change so a great workout- not a cigarette butt or granola bar wrapper to be found! Be prepared with food and drink- you will be out for 4-6 hours!
