Such an interesting, historical place. There's a lot to see -- really worth the visit. Plus, you can get a bite of lunch in their little cafe as well. Especially beautiful when lit up at Christmas time.

I liked the cafe (sandwiches, soup, soft drinks, coffee). Good atmosphere. Several shops with fun, interesting goodies and gifts. Self tour of the old mill and a short video about the museum's history. Very well preserved and restored. The mill itself is not recommended for anyone who has a lot of trouble walking and some of it is not wheelchair...

This is a wonderful place for history buffs - especially those interested in the history of textiles and the beginnings of the city of Salem. The cafe on the grounds sells wonderful food and the shops are fun for shoppers.
Be prepared to walk. Most everything is wheelchair accessible.

The rolling waters of the millrace, beautiful montages and displays of the Mill's historical significance, and my favorite ~ the shops and cafe. All together they make for a lovely day with the family ~ and of course, feed the ducks!!!

The combination of antique...

Every few years, I visit the museum to see what's new. In August of 2011, I observed that the museum and the historical society have combined forces. Several exhibits are up and running that had been in earlier planning phases on my previous visits, so it was neat to see just how much history has been preserved.
Among the working...

The entire complex, which included an old mill, an old church, and houses from the 1800s, is well worth a 2-3 hour visit. Admission fee ($6/adult) is modest. There is free on-site parking, as well as a cafe.

I enjoyed the slide show and appreciated that we were given a key to enter the outbuildings on our own. It was done very tastefully. very helpful staff. I look forward to going back.

This is sort of a gathering of some of the history buildings that would have been torn down if not moved to this location and then beautifully restored. There's an introductory video that helps if you don't have a ton of time to spend here, then the wonderful lady at the front desk hands you a key to open the...
