Came here for an early-afternoon adventure with my wife and daughter. The peacocks are interesting and quite docile, and very beautiful. Everything else was a major disappointment: the rock structures are falling apart, the "museum" smells of cigarettes, mold, and mildew, and the property is littered with junk. There is little to no signage describing the history of the rock... More

I stopped off without any real expectations and was pleasently suprised to see the rock work.I can see how some people would be dissapointed with the fact that it doesn't appear to be well maintained. Nonetheless, this is a very neat place to visit and there is a picnic table with a large patch of grass that has peacocks roaming... More

What happened to this wonderful place?? If Mr. Petersen could see how run down and unmaintained his great creation has become, he would for sure turn over in his grave. I’m writing this review to warn others out there that remember this to be quite a spectacular place, so that their fond memories are not destroyed like ours were. When... More

Incredible rock work. It's an awesome place to visit. Ponds, peacocks, interesting and intricate rock work. Great for picnics, picture taking and just spending a lazy afternoon at. You'll always remember this place as being a one of a kind find. More

Could use some updating. The rocks are nice, and the paths are maintained. But time is beginning to take it's toll. More

You can tell Mr Peterson put a lot of backbone into this. I go every year and I can tell its falling apart little by little. The kids love the peacocks. More

I am sure that someone spent thousands of hours builiding all the different structures. However, as the previous reviewer mentioned; it definitely look tired and dated. Need to spruce up the presentation of each rock exhibit and investment in the attraction. Maybe the revenues aren't enough to properly maintain it. Was probably a very nice attraction many decades ago. More

Rock portion of gardens is looking tired and used in some areas. The last time I was here was 30+ years ago and it is falling apart. There is no other place like this around and it is sad to see it going. It seems that it is being used and abused by the heirs for monetary gain and nothing... More

We would pretty much agree with the previous review of Petersen Rock Garden. It was really cool to see all the buildings, bridges, towers, ponds, statues, and so forth that were built years ago by Rasmus Petersen, a retired man. The Statue of Liberty may have been our favorite structure there, although it was all pretty good. They say a... More
