St. Johns is a great little piece of Portland to explore. Once you've fueled up on food and drinks from one of the quirky restaurants in this area head out on the St. Johns Bridge for a walk on a spectacular bridge with a beautiful view. This is one of those places that absolutely makes you feel like a tourist... More

St. John's Bridge is my favorite of all the bridges in Portland. Architecturally, it is the most beautiful, with tons of deco character. I see it is Portland's little version of the Golden Gate. Because it is removed from all of the other downtown bridges, it is a great one to photograph in isolation. A must visit for photo enthusiasts... More

Although I left Oregon in 1979, it is always good to see the little bridge that welcomes me back. It leads to St. Johns which has fallen on worse times but there are still places to visit there, like Patti's for a good and inexpensive breakfast. It has the charm of a 50's diner with oldtimers sitting around having their... More

This is the most beautiful bridge I think I've been on. It's graceful and just stunning. The design of this bridge sets it above and beyond just about every bridge I've ever seen.

The majority of non-Oregonians might recognize the St. Johns Bridge as the site of one of the more dramatic scenes from the movie "Pay it Forward". But for me it will always be the green giant that we passed under on our way to the ophthalmologist, the Portland Zoo, the Portland Beavers, or the Oak Pit Barbeque (all of which,... More

If you live in Portland or just visiting it's worth a visit. Great place to take pictures or just go on a walk. Right by the river and has a great view from the top of the bridge.

This is a perfect bridge in the city of bridges. Portland, Oregon. Walk across and enjoy the views, or hop on a bike and do as other portlanders and do a coffee shop tour, or better yet, brewery tour!

Gothic spires towering high over the Willamette River, on a crisp, clear day heading into St Johns at the center of the bridge, you can spot snow capped Mt Hood to the right, towing above the river and Portland. As you turn to the left, is Mt Adams, Mt St Helens and if you know where to look, the glistening... More

It was scary! But worth every sight, sound, feeling of your tires on the open aired floor of the bridge, so tight, a bike is like one car.......but just keep pedaling. And if you are very brave, look down and at the very short railings of the bridge while cross winds make it fun and a challenge to cross. You... More
