What a great theater and facility in downtown! The show we saw Somewhere in Time was great. Not a bad seat in the house.

Old armory revitalized into a major theater space in a high end area of downtown...nicely done and good playbill. Good area restaurants close-by, parking garage nearby helps too.

This is a really nice venue for small theatrical productions. I just love going there. It is modern inside and historic outside.

The theatre space provides good sight lines to the stage from most areas, we were in the last row in the orchestra (R) and had no difficulty seeing or hearing the performance. we happened to see Clybourne Park, which was okay but not a great production of a fairly well written play. Rest areas are well designed but I found... More

The actual building housing The Gerding Theater was, long ago, the home of the National Guard in downtown Portland. Visitors today would not be able to find a single indicator of the building's past. Today, it's a greatly respected theater of Portland. We particularly enjoy the many plays that are presented at the theater, and we somehow enjoy the atmosphere... More

We have had season tickets for years. They present the highest quality productions in Portland--a city with a lot of theater.

On Sunday evenings, there is a rush line feature. This allows you to purchase last minute tickets for a very reduced price. Try it!

I sat in the front, in the middle and in the back, and I could easily see the actor's expressions. I love intimate theater and even though it is not the smallest theater in the world, it feels like you are up close. It is a very cool space over all as well!

After enjoying the elegant Newmark Theater for many years while attending Portland Center Stage productions, I was dubious about the move to the Armory. But we've liked this venue very much, especially the Ellyn Bye Studio.
