Devil's Punch Bowl is about eight miles north of Newport in Otter Rock, Oregon. It's a beautiful area with an unusual hollow rock formation. The punch bowl offers spectacular sites during high tides and can be explored during low tide. We were able to see distant Gray Whales both times that we visited. It also appears to be a popular... The view is a little restricted as you must be behind a fence about 50 yards away but it is an unusual formation and still worth the visit.

Probably would not have gone out of our way but we were looking for things to do and this was on our list. Room to walk around the bowl when the tide is out and the surrounding scenery is fantistic. Park area seemed clean.

Make sure to go at near high tide for maximum churning! But the colors and textures of the rock are always beautiful.

This is an incredible view... you don't get to walk down too it. You observe from the top. It use to be a cave and the top fell in... absolutely amazing to look at. There is a walk way that takes you around for a view of the ocean to the south that you see surfers. Also tables to have... More

We visit the Oregon coast about every other year and mainly explore as far north as Tillamook and as far south as Waldport. This year the absolute best beach experience we had was on the north side of Devils Punchbowl. We had very small children up to pre-teens. They all had a blast. When we parked at the lot above... We just stopped here briefly but the rock formation. "punch bowl" is amazing. We happened to be here at sunset and it was breathtaking.

This place is like no other that I have seen. There is a big hole in the rocks where the ocean comes in and at high tide is quite deep. Once we went north and walked into it which was not a good idea if a big wave had come in.

If it's a stormy day around high tide, you WILL be impressed with this site. One of the few remaining free attractions on the Oregon Coast. Just bundle up good and enjoy the show.

We always stop on our way - and go prepared for the begging squirrels (only one this time). But were undulated with a huge flock of crows -- which left a huge mess on my car. We're planning on stopping in at the Flying Dutchman Winery - but alas, it wasn't open.
