On a chilly but clear December night.. We took our 'just' four year old daughter with an aunt & uncle on this train. I recommend the evening train so you can see the lights. She loved it..so I guess that's what matters right?? I thought it was a bit over priced but a nice memory for families with small children.... More

The Mt. Hood Railroad is popular year round. Check out the apple blossums in spring or bring the kids to see the train get transformed into "Thomas the Train}, or experience the "Polar Express" ride in December with Santa on board. It sells out quickly each year. It leaves Hood River and goes up thru the orchards to Parkdale. Just... More

I have a family of four, we have a 3 and 6 year old. We ordered the least expensive tickets (which was still pretty expensive) and sat in the coach car. First, one of our tickets was seperated from the rest, so that was wasted money as my 3 year old sat on my lap the whole time. Then there... More

Dear Lorali, Thank you for joining us on the Polar Express in 2011. It sounds like you guys where cramped in the Coach seating. I'm sorry about that and I will look into making coach seating more comfortable for future trips. I'm glad your children enjoyed the event. We hope to see you again this season. More

We paid extra to sit in the dome area and we were all happy to take home the commemorative mug. It was my grandson's first train ride so that contributed to the overall... More

If I were rating this for the train ride only, I would give it more stars. It was a fun train ride and beautiful scenery. But I am reviewing specifically the Murder Mystery dinner train. The dinner options sounded fine: baked sole, lasagne, filet mignon or pork chops. There were four of us together, and each ordered a different item.... More
