The lighthouse was not open for an inside peak, although it was suppose to be. But the area around it was interesting to walk around and of course plenty of photo ops. More

Docent on duty to answer questions. Flip/flop shoes are not allowed on the staircase, so don't even ask. It's a rule that they won't break for your safety. More

We didn't go when they were giving tours, but it was a nice lighthouse from a distance. We got some great pictures of seagulls flying just around it. More

I last visited this lighthouse fifty years ago, and not much as changed, except some of the gorse is gone. It is very small, particularly compared to other coastal lighthouses, but one can see why it was needed where the river enters the sea. Wonderful long beach and campground right next to it. It is across the river from the town of Bandon, Oregon. Wonderful little coastal town with terrific beaches, great restaurants, etc. More

Right along the jetty the Coquille River Lighthouse is just waiting for you to take a picture. It has been years since I have taken a tour of the inside, but I always love returning to Bandon to view this iconic lighthouse. More

This is a South Oregon Coast icon and while I love it, it really needs some major work. Cold inside, not much to see. The volunteers are just great, though, talking about history and the area. With imagination -- and money -- it could be really special. More
