Loved the whole experience. To go on the open top safari is a must and well worth the extra money. Could not believe how close we were to the animals and the guide knew her facts!

Not quite as good as Melbourne Zoo, but it is a fantastic place. I'm a big fan of big cats, and there aren't a lot of these here. The rhinos and giraffes in the open area are amazing to ... you must take your kids to see these magnificent creatures
Werribee Open Range Zoo perfectly compliments Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary and is a completely different and unique experience to the others.
The highlight is the safari bus tour.....which is included in the entry price......a bargain considering kids get in for free!
I may not need to do a safari in Africa now....we got an up-close look at a rhino...

Pros:
The safari bus tour - interesting and insightful.
Variety of animals- rhinos to meerkats
Park layout- feels authentic and African like.
Cons-
Entry fee- overpriced.
Food - better to pack a picnic from home, que way to long for what they service, plus waited 30-40min bowl of chips to arrive after order.
Staff - overworked and very few around...

if you love African animals Weribee zoo is the place to visit. Don't miss the safari bus tour and if you want to take photos make sure you take a zoom lens. Cost $ 26.10 for a Adult. it is close to Weribee Rose garden and park so check them if you have time.

Need to be a bit organised here as you need to get on a bus to see some of the animals. Highly recommend the photography safari tour.
Easy to get to by car. Great to see a savannah/open air zoo. Lots for kids to do. And ,with the equestrian centre and Shadowfax Winery next door, other things to look at and do in the area.
Even thought it randomly rained on a summer day i absolutly loved this place. the animals are well kept and very well looked after so they all looked happy and enjoyed the tours very much. fantastic variety of animals that i would have never seen living in london
Second time visiting and the safari makes the trip. We visited on a very hot day and understandably many of the animals were taking refuge in the shade. Good for a half day visit with young children.
