Would be better when not so wet & more penguins. However the best part was not watching them come in from water, but watching them walk along the walk way to their burrows. You can see them so much closer. More

As we never saw real pimgyin before, we thought it's big as seen on TV/Magazines. Never thought it has word 'fairy'. We had to sat quietly on the deck waiting for the pinguins coming home. After a while we saw a black spot on the sea that getting bigger & bigger. There they are! a group of pinguins heading home,... More

We had been encouraged by locals to to attend the Penguin Parade. The advert said, "Every sunset, wild penguins emerge from the sea and waddle across the beach to their sand dune burrows." These small "fairy penguins" spend the day searching for fish and eating, then return to their burrow at shore... often up to 1 km from the water's... More

The penguins have long been a dependable source of family entertainment. We went on a particularly warm (and busy) January evening. A couple of warnings - the place can be particularly cold and windy at times, so take a jacket just in case. During the summer months with daylight savings it will be a late evening if you have young... More

I have been to visit the penguins many times over the years with visitors from overseas, this time i went with my 13 year old niece and opted for the more expensive private vewing...... This gave us front row seats and our own ranger (there were 6 in the group) Dave our ranger was very friendly and provided lots of... More

Hi Went to visit the fairy penguins in mid April. The facilities were quite good but the entry price was quite high for the show that we received. There were very little penguins that landed on the beach which were visible to the general public, after speaking to the guide, they mentioned that this was the quite season and that... More

The penguins come out naturally every day at dusk. You do not need this facilty to make it happen, we are a family and payed for the second tier, which means you see a better view. The penguins come out on demand right at dusk. They wander past you as you can follow them. It is always cold, bring warm... More

My fiance and I have been holidaying in Melbourne the past week and decided to go for a drive to Phillip Island. We were really looking forward to seeing the penguins however unfortunately once we saw that the minimum charge (over $25 each for a basic seat) we decided not to bother going in. We were both quite alarmed that... More

Up until we bought our house in the Island, I hadn't visited the penguins for over 15 years, and had forgotten how much joy they bring! A summers evening between Christmas and New Year was our chosen date, taking two other couples (all in our 30s) along for the experience. Note: bookings are essential over peak times - the penguins... More
