Different walks form very short to very long. Probably one day even is not enough. The best for us was the Dove lake circuit walk. Will recommend to start the walk from right to left. While you still strong enough you will be better claimer. We have started form easy way and at the end we where tired and its... More

I can't even give you a review of the canyoning itself as we didn't even get THAT far. It started on our first attempt, and I do use attempt. We were four very excited lads who got up at 6 am to do the 1 and a half hour drive up. Upon arrival in less than perfect conditions we weren't... More

Redbear91, sorry your experience with us was disappointing. We take your safety extremely seriously, so if there is a chance the river is going to be unsafe due to flooding, we have to move the location of our tour. It is the way it has to be with canyoning in wild rivers.   We have a great backup option, called... More

I spent the day in the very narrow and very deep Machinery River Gorge today with two very experienced guides, Nic and Urs from Cradle Mountain Canyons. Wearing three layers of wetsuit I didnt feel the cold, my adrenalin probably kept me warm too. Lots of waterfalls to be guided down with ropes and a few drops to leap off... More

Hi Annie Great to have you back out there again. We'll be advertising guiding positions this coming September if you're interested in taking it a step further ;) Its great to have some representatives from Parks and Wildlife get out to see the hidden gems their backyard. Unfortunately for us we were disappointed that no-one recommended the CRADLE MOUNTAIN DOVE CANYON TOURS to us and so had not factored the 6-8 hour tour into our Tassie Tour timeline! We went on the Lost Worlds Tour, made the most of it and had a ball! Great family fun - great fun for the not so adventurous! - Great... More

Hi Rachel Great to hear your trip on the Lost World Canyon was a blast. Yes, unfortunately word is quite slow to spread that our tours rock and the Dove Canyon is one of Australia's and indeed the world's premier adventure tours. The combination of thrills amid hidden Tasmanian wilderness makes for an unforgettable experience. I hope you guys can... More

Cradle Mountain has something for everyone from the serious Tramper to a day walker with a foot in a cast. For the former there is the multiday trip across the park and for the later the boardwalk timber walkways are really great. The boardwalks are an easy grade and since they are fairly new are in great condition. Views are... More

Our visit to dove canyon started hesitantly, with the weather at 2Degrees and snow falling at marions lookout, we hoped our adventure would be cancelled! 3 layers of wetsuit and spectacular scenery and i didn't even notice the weather until i got back to the carpark after the trip. The adventure was great, held surprises at each turn, it was... More

Thanks very much for the review Pademelon Pie. Glad to hear you weren't too cold in the water, even though it was snowing. Working in an alpine river, the cold is obviously something we have to deal with to make sure our clients have a good time. Thanks very much for the feedback and hope to see you again in... More

Me and my friends had a great time, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it. We left Launceston very early that morning and drove home that night - a big day but achievable, no need to pay extra for accommodation and stay at Cradle if you don't want to. We found it a lot more tiring than we... More

Thanks for the review Kristy. Yep, it is pretty tiring walking around in a wet wetsuit, especially that walk out. We like our clients to be tired at the end of the day though - hopefully that means they feel a greater sense of achievement. Great to hear you think it is achievable as a tour from Launceston too. I'd... More

Such a great day out! For a hens weekend we did the 6 hr dove river canyon, and we all had a ball! Awesome jumps, slides, waterfalls and great guides. It was such a different way to enjoy the beauty of the national park. Would definitely recommend it!
