My Mum and I had a fantastic day out with Robyn to Stanley & The Nut. We travelled with another couple from our cruise ship Queen Elizabeth. Robyn was very knowledgeable about the local area and nothing was to much trouble. She gave us a lovely & tasty Morning Tea/Lunch with local Fruits & Cheeses. Robyn made some tasty Rhubarb chutney. At the end of the tour was a Wow factor surprise. We recommend this tour next time you are in Burnie Tasmania.

When our cruise ship called in to Burnie we wanted to participate in a tour with a difference. Robyn's Play a Round in Tassie Day Tours certainly filled the bill. From the moment we were met by Robyn at the Tourist Information Centre until we returned to the same location more than 6 hours later, the combination of amazing scenery, a wealth of local knowledge & a bubbly personality combined with a 'WOW factor' made Robyn one of the best guides we have ever had the pleasure to meet. Everything during the day was pleasurable, especially morning tea with local cheese & freshly made rhubarb relish that was such a hit the all 4 travellers wanted the recipe. If the chance to travel with Robyn ever comes your way, grab it, take part & your reaction will be 'WOW".

Thank you for the fabulous review and kind words, it was a wow day, we had great weather, great views whilst sampling local foods, I had just made a batch of rhubarb relish the day before for the first time so was eager for you to have a sample, it was a success. I am always working on my tour being different from other tours so that your day from start to finish is a WOW

We had a marvelous trip in Burnie! Robyn is extremely organized and has the entire day planned by what we were interested in; then we spotted a platypus and threw the whole plan off, (LOL) but she adapted our tour to this event and we continued. The stops are amazing, the travel van is quite comfortable and her WOW is truly that. No pictures of the wow factor posted intentionally. It is a great surprise.

Thank you for your great review, I need to be organised, I only have you on tour for a few hours and I have so much to share with you, finding that elusive platypus is an added bonus. So thrilled my WOW Factor was exactly that for you, it’s the highlight of our day

One of the destinations on our 7 day cruise from Sydney to Tasmania was Burnie - we usually book tours arranged by the cruise line but in this instance couldn't find one that really appealed to us so decided to try Robyn's private tour. We were so pleased with our choice - Robyn is a warm and welcoming host who loves this scenic part of Tasmania that has been her home for many years. Her enthusiasm and friendly personality added to the enjoyment of the day and we packed a wide variety of things into the time that we had, she was determined not to waste a minute! The tour included beautiful scenery, native animal spotting, a delicious picnic, visits to local food producers, including an icecream stop at the local berry farm. She finished the day with her "wow factor" secret spot, so you'll have to find that our for yourself! I managed to break my sunglasses during the day and Robyn even managed to produce a spare pair which she gave me, which was much appreciated. All in all it was a lovely day.

Thank you for the lovely review, there is so much to see and do in the few hours we have together. Native animals, tasting local delights, lookouts with fabulous scenery then to finish off with a berry ice cream and my wow factor, so pleased you enjoyed your day

Robyn was so warm and friendly from the time I first emailed her until we hugged and said goodbye at the end of the tour. It was like spending the day with your favorite family member. She picked us up with a sign welcoming us, outlined our day, listened to us and made adjustments to meet our needs, and off we went. We were intent on finding a platypus in the wild, and Robyn, the platypus whisperer, did not disappoint. She even brought along a variety of Australian specific snacks, some homemade, for us to sample. Robyn's homemade Vegemite/cheese rolls made Vegemite believers of all of us on the tour. We got to participate in such a nice variety of activities, the day flew by. Four of us were on the tour, and our day with Robyn in Burnie was a highlight for all of us. Highly Recommended

Thank you so much for your lovely review, from the moment I receive your first email until we say goodbye I want it to be a great experience, I feel like you are a family member during our day. My day with the four of you was great, added bonus spotting our elusive platypus, I get as excited as you when we spy him. It’s a pleasure introducing you to our Aussie foods, maybe our paths will cross again

We just returned from a 14-day cruise of (primarily) New Zealand with 3 additional stops in Australia. We went on 7 tours throughout the cruise: 4 from those offered by the cruise line and 3 we booked independently.
Without doubt, the best of these tours was the time we spent in and around Burnie, Tasmania with Robyn and her husband David. Robyn had worked with us in advance to create a full day’s tour, but we were thrown a big curve ball when our scheduled disembarkation was delayed by 2 hours by Australian immigration and customs personnel.
Despite this immediate handicap, Robyn gave us a most interesting and enjoyable day, making changes to plans on the fly, but still hitting so many highlights that we felt we got to do and see just about everything we could have asked for.
The time spent at Wing’s Wildlife Center (admission extra) was particularly worthwhile (kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, a sleepy koala, as well as various native birds and snakes, etc.). We found the daily display of feeding the Tasmanian Devils especially interesting (they may look cute, but they sure can be vicious when it comes to tearing up animal parts).
She also took us to a neighborhood park where she and a friend had spotted a platypus in the water a few days earlier, and we were lucky enough to see it as well. Our last stop was a nature park. We only had about 20 minutes, but we managed to see 2 wallabies (one so tame that he just stood there as we all took pictures) and numerous giant ferns.
Throughout the day, Robyn kept a commentary going that both informed and amused our group of 10 fellow cruisers, while David handled the driving chores and added his own observations from time to time as well. Robyn also managed to provide not just water, but a number of delicious treats along the way, especially the made-from-fresh-fruit-right-in-front-of-your-eyes raspberry and strawberry ice cream -- delicious!
What really made the day special for us though was just being with Robyn and David; they clearly enjoy what they do and they treated us all like we were visiting family rather than just a bunch of tourists. Neither of us knew anything about Tasmania before this too-short visit, but Robyn and David definitely have us wanting to return some day.

We had a wonderful time with Robyn and her husband! Traveled by cruise with extended family and booked a trip with Robyn. They are very welcoming and had a lovely day set up for us. We got to see a lot and learn a lot about Burnie. Would recommend any day. We enjoyed trying Australian treats and seeing the beautiful countryside!
Thanks for an awesome day!

We were in Burnie ending a month long trip in Australia and yet this tour was about the best we had out of many. My wife and I were picked up in a private car and driven for the day. In addition to a number of fabulous vistas, the highlights were Wings Wildlife Park and Gunn's Plains Caves. (Entrance fees were extra).
Wings Wildlife Park was one of the best parks we saw in Australia (we saw 5) - it is just a fabulous place. The diversity of gorgeous birds is breathtaking, feeding emus was fun, and and watching Tasmanian Devils feeding was somewhat terrifying. So while its Koala exhibit is not as good as Lone Pine or its Kangaroo exhibit as good as Territory Wildlife Park it was the park we enjoyed most.
Next we went to Gunn's Plains Caves. This is a guided cave tours though a limestone cave which has a permanent stream running the length of the cave. Spectacular calcite formations with lots of color. Caution - this tour is somewhat strenuous and very claustrophobic. My wife and I both had muscle soreness after the tour.
A very memorable day.

Thank you for your review, so pleased you thought Wings Wildlife Park and Gunn’s Plains Caves were a highlight of your month long cruise around Australia, the animal interactions and limestone formations always make it a popular tour. David enjoyed his day with you both

Ive travelled quite a bit over the years and been on variety of tours etc but this is one of the best I've done - This lady is amazing - she was so friendly and accommodating to me and my friends showing us all the hidden parts of Tassie we wouldn't have seen without her.
Robyn's car was clean and presentable and she gave us a whole host of information throughout the day - she asked what we were keen to see and advised us accordingly.
We went to Wings Wildlife park with Robyn and she showed us around explaining about the owners and the animals that were there etc

An amazing day - i would highly recommend this amazing lady if you are ever in Burnie.
