Well worth the climb up to the castle for the fantastic views when you get up to the keep.Th area around the castle is very well kept and there are some tea rooms in the castle grounds.

The castle itself is simply a keep with a walkway around it. You can envisage what it had been like when it was inhabited. The views are excellent in all directions worth the trip for that. There is a museum which costs £3.85 for an adult, it is worth that and contains various interactive items and a comprehensive history. It... More

For free you can have a look round the castle & the wonderful parkland with brilliant views from the castle itself. The attached museum is great for all ages & for £3.85 for adults, kids free & reduced rate of £2.90 for over 60's & students it's a great way to spend a few hours. Great interactive exhibits, younger kids... More

Worth the hike up the path and the steps to the viewing area for the exceptional views over Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley as well as Pendleton Hill. The cafe is also good value with both interior and outdoor seating.

As the castle keep itself is very small it is well worth paying the £3.80ish entrance fee for the museum. It is very interesting, well laid out and dry! The museum has a cafe and gift shop and was brilliant I thoroughly enjoyed it, it made for a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy afternoon.

A last minute decision to go on a day trip to Clitheroe. Not much happening in the town but the museum was wonderful! Really informative and well worth the price :) I would definitely recommend this place :)

Really enjoyed our visit to the Castle, in fact we stayed so long that we ate lunch in the cafe there, too, which was basic but well done and very good value. Castle staff are very friendly and the exhibits were well done and interesting - they would appeal to young people as well as us oldies. Views of Clitheroe... More

Blue badge parking right outside the castle which was lucky because climbing the hill would have been "interesting". Very interesting history of Clitheroe. Lovely tea rooms with exceedingly good cakes!
