There is a museum which costs £3.85 for an adult, it is worth that and contains various interactive items and a comprehensive history. It...

Worth the hike up the path and the steps to the viewing area for the exceptional views over Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley as well as Pendleton Hill. The cafe is also good value with both interior and outdoor seating.
As the castle keep itself is very small it is well worth paying the £3.80ish entrance fee for the museum. It is very interesting, well laid out and dry! The museum has a cafe and gift shop and was brilliant I thoroughly enjoyed it, it made for a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy afternoon.

Castle staff are very friendly and the exhibits were well done and interesting - they would appeal to young people as well as us oldies. Views of Clitheroe...

Blue badge parking right outside the castle which was lucky because climbing the hill would have been "interesting". Very interesting history of Clitheroe. Lovely tea rooms with exceedingly good cakes!
Excellent place to see, fantastic views over Clitheroe and surrounding countryside from the keep, grounds are well kept and very clean. Things to do for all the family.
