We stopped in for a drink on a sunny evening as I'd read about the seating on the beach. We were served straightaway and got a seat on the beach while watching the sun go down. Pretty good as far as I'm concerned. Only slight negative was 50p charge paying by card.

Top pub top atmosphere. Great local crowd with a superb juke-box.I called in with my wife on a Friday tea-time in March. Can't wait to go back next time we are in the town.

I sat in the old style pew bench that Peter O'Toole parked his O'Tuckus in! I enjoyed hot and cheesy fries with my room temp Best Bitters and had a ball. Great atmosphere, friendly and accommodating barmaid, lovely view right on the beach. Thumbs up for this Whitstable landmark!

This is an old school pub that is bursting with local characters. Good beer and great atmosphere. But it gets busy in the summer so patience is a virtue my fellow travellers.

Stopped here for a drink while touring Whitstable. Was nice to sit on the benches on the beach, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.

I don't rate the Neptune. From my visits there, each time I encounter miserable staff that are in no rush to serve you (no matter how nice you try to be!), Plastic pots to drink from, poor selection of beers and a filthy section of beach to sit out on.
