The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn’s Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events; visit our website for up to date information on events, prices and opening times. « less

Hever Castle, originally owned by the Boylen family before Henry VIII took over, is more a home than a traditional castle. It feels warm and inviting and you can imagine a family living and loving this house. The Astor family have done a remarkable job with its restoration and seeing their rooms for the turn of the 20th century (early... More

It was expensive. We were a family of 4 adults (1 pensioner) and a child but could not get a family discount. More

My fiancé surprised me on Valentine's day by taking me out here while on holiday. At first I thought it would be quick and a bit boring. Boy, was I wrong! The grounds are beautiful and the gardens are stunning. The views (even on a cloudy day) are amazing. The castle inside has so much history you can see and... More

We visited today on a family ticket both the gardens and castle. We walked round the gardens, rowed a boat on the lake (£12.50 extra) and completed the water maze. After this, we went round the castle which was much bigger than it looks from the outside and has many portraits in it. We stopped for a drink and then... More

I loved Hever Castle and the gardens especially, they are well looked after. We visited the attraction on a rainy day, but that only added up to the impression. If you get there by train, it will take another 25 minutes to get to the property on foot. Some piece of your walk will have no sidewalks, so that feels... More

This is a great place to visit for both young and old. The only problem is that it is a bit of a trek from the station and the roads are a quiet. So best not to go on your own and leave plenty of time to get back to catch your train. There is a lovely pub on the... More

I love the Italian gardens, there is so much to see. We visited Hever on Easter Sunday. It was all so colourful. The castle's history was so interesting being the childhood home of Ann Boleyn. Loved it all, will return again (This was our fourth visit over the years) More

We visited as a group of 8 (4 adults & 4 children) and I can honestly say I dont know who enjoyed the day more! Something here for all ages, The water Maze was a favorite with the children, and the Yew maze was enjoyed by all. The gardens are beautiful, could spend hours walking around and finding something new... More
