“Just another museum”

Located inside the Air Force campus, the museum is cramped into a small building, and a bunch of vintage aircraft cramped into a small enclosure opposite. It seems to be made more as an attraction for those that havent seen an aircraft in their lives. The displayed information is poorly compiled, poorly displayed, and not tastefully done. It is an area opened to public inside the other wise restricted Air Base of Shillong. No charges for entry, nice airplane models on display (pix attached) and there is a skin of a Giant Python on display which swallowed a whole deer. You spend an hour and browse through the war history and then pick up some mementos at... More

“Interesting stopover on the Cherrapunji road”

The museum is a part of the sprawling Head quarter of the Indian Air Force [ Eastern Command ] . These parts saw some real action in the Bangladesh liberation War of 1971.
