We had 3 nights at Rawnsley Park caravan park which was excellent. The managers were incredibly helpful with suggestions on best tracks for scenery, picnic spots, and places to watch the sunset. The amenities were excellent, including the cabins where our friends stayed. Wilpena Pound is beautiful with many gorges and tracks for both walking and driving. Bunyeroo and Brachina... More

We stayed at Flinders Ranges Caravan Park at Hawker, 40 min drive to Wilpena Pound, heart of Flinders Ranges, South Australia. It is a delightful place to camp and much quieter than the busy caravan park at Wilpena Pound. The Mawson bike trail (900km long from Adelaide to Blinman) passes through Hawker, which is a little bit rough there but... More

A great outback experience with good facilities and many other places worth visiting in the vicinity. The pound itself is almost eerie, and there are 2 places to climb, Mt John for those with limited physical ability, and Mt Mary for the more fit More

We spent 2 days exploring the area around and within Wilpena Pound. We were blessed with great weather and were able to cover a lot of ground and see the pound both from the air and also drive through the gorges around it. The formation of the Pound is a very unique one and it is something to behold on... More

A hidden valley surrounded by mountains accessible only on foot. If you have time to get here and spend a couple days hiking around it's really worth it. There are level walks as well as strenuous climbs. St. Mary's Peak is a must but will take most of a day. From there you have a panoramic view of the entire... More
