Pick your day; it can be draughty. A pleasant walk . An Iron Age hill fort, not of the top class, on Ivinghoe Beacon. Some interesting churches nearby; an old windmill at Ivinghoe (the date of 1697 has been falsely altered to 1627)

Love the view, the wonderful gliders flying overhead while you have a picnic or kite flying on the hill with the children, the lovely walks but....I hate paying for it as it is now pay and display, it was countryside for all to enjoy for free up to a few of years ago, now they have dug up more of...

We often visit Dunstable Downs. The cafe is well used and staff all ready and willing to help.
The kite festival is well worth a trip in July.

Really great place to take photos! Just away from it all and a great place to just walk and enjoy the countryside!

The Downs are always fab to visit on foot and also great on a mountain bike. Take a picnic and there is a centre that sells ice cream and other local things such as honey . Obviously it's better when the weather is dry and not too windy.

There is a large hard standing car park, a cafe for refreshments plus an interesting visitor centre. Also worth a visit for the fresh air and fantastic...

There is a new visitor centre and plenty of parking for great views of the downs and the gliding station but the parking is way too expensive. You can spend from 20 mins to half a day there easily and it is a place you can visit over and over.
