How often do you get to see something very special, and at the same time help those less fortunate. We went here on the recommendation of our hosts at La Selva Mariposa, and our visit turned out to be a visit we will not forget. Our guide, Francisco, with his "Brooklyn is King" tee shirt and NY Yankee hat (perfect... More

We extended our time in Valladolid to take the 10am tour here, and we're so glad we did. It was just my wife and I on the tour - and it was fantastic. The house itself is amazing, and all the folk art is spectacular. It's free to go, but they suggest a 60 pesos donation at the end, which... More

Don't miss Casa de los Venados. This immaculately restored mansion is filled with folk art from many regions of Mexico. Every wall, counter, and corner holds yet another beautiful example of Mexico's finest. Our guide, Fredy, was fantastic–knowledgeable and friendly. Plan accordingly, the tours are limited. There is no fee but they ask for donations that support health services for... More

We took the daily 10am tour around Casa de los Venados and enjoyed it immensely. The house itself is breathtaking and a joy to walk around. The restored hacienda-style private home also has some modern aspects, the architect did an amazing job here. And no where else in Mexico will you get the chance to see such a beautiful private... This is simply the most amazing collection of Mexican folk art you will ever see, displayed in a beautiful home. We were blown away. They do tours at 10 each morning, lasting 20-30 minutes. Admission is free, but they take donations at the end which are used for social and health services. Our kids enjoyed it too.

I loved it all and the fact that it is a private collection that the owner is willing to share makes it even more special.Check it out ahead of time as the house may not be open other than at a certain time of day.

We open the house every single day of the year at 10 AM for a tour in either English or Spanish. We do this because when my wife and I have traveled we hated when we were in a certain city with an attraction that turned out to be closed on the day we were in tour. Thank you your... More

I thought this would be a nice attraction, but it was even better than we could have guessed. The collection is amazing but the stories behind the origins of the pieces and the house instead were equally engaging. It was also interesting that our tour passed through the kitchen where the owner was having breakfast with his wife and friends.... More

There are always a few moments from your trip that always stand out more then the rest. "Casa de los Venados" is one of those moments for us. I am a huge art lover and all the art was so beautiful with a story to go along with each and every piece. Although I did love the art. The moment... More

Our visit to Casa de Los Venados was one of the highlights of our two weeks in the Yucatan. We loved the place just as much as the other reviewers on here, but I’m writing this review specifically for anyone who might think they won’t like the style of art – we weren’t sure whether we would. For a start,... More
