Museum should not be missed. Many of the shops off detailed demonstrations. If offered, accept a demo. The variety of product in the town is impressive. More

Hammered copper artworks to enrich the soul made by hand by some of the most amazing metalsmiths and artisans in the country. Or more utilitarian objects as well ... but shipping these pieces costs more than the works themselves. More

If you like copper, this is the place for you! You can watch demonstrations of copper being formed into pots and pans. Very interesting and the copper pieces are very reasonable More

The town is very cute and keeps the characteristics of the towns that sorround Patzcuaro lake. The houses are white and red all along downtown. It has a main plaza where a lot of artisans expose their copper pieces. You can walk 2 blocks from downtown and go to the actual shops and see the artisans working on their pieces.... More

This was such an unexpected delight--we took a (nice) bus from Patzcuaro to Santa Clara del Cobre and found the little town clean, charming, and ALL about copper. The museum was filled with extraordinary works of copper art. The finest quality I have ever seen. My husband was amazed while going through the foundry and watching the workers forge copper... More
