This is a relatively unique sort of museum. It's interesting for the whole family--especially if you bring members of a senior generation to share their experiences with the children. It's fun for kids to see transportation from the "olden days", but adults enjoy it too. There are fun activities for the kids as well. More

This is one of the best collections of horse-drawn vehicles to be seen anywhere in the world. The museum displays an immense variety of carts and carriages for a multiplicity of purposes (agricultural, industrial, postal, passenger, fire-fighting, etc., etc.) You might even have a chance to take a ride on a horse-drawn wagon. I wasn't really interested in the Museum, but tagged along with friends and I was extremely impressed with the volume of carriages. Be sure to check out the warehouse section - open to the public - all the carriages that won't fit on the display are here and 2X the volume of what's in the main part of the museum. More

The Remington Carriage House is a very nicely museum and beautiful facility. If you enjoying learning about the past and want to see the carriages of yesteryear - then you will enjoy this facility. The carriages are beautifully restored, there is a lot of history you can learn about if you take your time and read about the displays, and... More

the hundreds of carriages (three surries with "fringes on top") and sleighs to read about. Excellent displays! The interactive Horse University was great! The videos were informative and entertaining (caboose!). The kids' wagon program is an excellent way of involving kids in the museum experience. One of the best museums we have visited. More

Its a museum full of carriages. If that's your thing then go for it. Personally I think The Simpson's described it best as one of the most boring family vacation spots. More

Our family stopped in while passing through Fort Macleod on our way throught town after seeing it behind the visitors center; I wasn't expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. This is a very modern facility which displays nearly every type of carriage ever built, with a chance to look back at our pre-automobile past. My wife and I and... More

If you've gone to Waterton Lakes National Park and it starts to rain out your day at the park, but you're not ready to head back to the U.S., you can drive 30 minutes east to the little town of Cardston. The museum is inside. Learn about the history and impact horse carriages had on western Canada. There are a... More

Our visit to The Remington Alberta Carriage Centre was an eye opener. We were taken back to a bygone era 1800's where people & horses worked side by side near an area with working horses and facuility. We highly recommend travel to this first class center.BTW from our guide - "The Remington Carriage Museum houses the largest collection of horse-drawn... More
