This is a small place, but a good place to take the kids. The information provided is good. Right next door is a museum to check out about the city of Dickinson
Very small, but well kept. If the price was a couple dollars cheaper per person it would be a good value. Took my kids and I 15 minutes to see everything, my husband took 30 minutes. Great gift shop.
Dinosaur and mammal fossils take up about 2/3 of the one-room museum just off the interstate. The other 1/3 is cases of mineral specimens. I've seen so many dinosaur museums (husband is a fossil hound) that I'm afraid I can't comment much on this museum's collections because I didn't pay that much attention to them (I'm bored already...). But I... More
We visited the Dinosaur Museum based on an AAA recommendation. We were a little skeptical at first, but found that the visit was worth the trip. The museum is small compared to what we are used to back east. You can easily see the contents in 2 hours. There are many dinosaur skeletons and a whole range of fossils. The... More
This museum is a labor of love. Most of the items in this fabulous museum come from Alice and Larry League's personal collection of several thousands of specimens. Most days you can meet them because they run the museaum and if they can they will talk about their collection. There are 11 full scale dinosaurs (including a real Triceratops skeleton)... More
Some cool dinosaur stuff, but the name is misleading. They seem to be changing over to be less rock/gem based more dinosaur so give it a shot if you are passing through, but not worth going out of your way for.
Arrangement is very nice, and displays are done professionally. Not a very large museum, and many of the fossils are incomplete.
We drove out of our way to come here because my son really wanted to see dinosaurs. This place REALLY needs to change its name to the Dakota Natural Science Museum. There are only a couple of smaller dinosaur skeletons. The rest are fossils and stones. It was an OK museum with some nice displays, BUT not at all what... More
Aewsome! It was better than we ever expected! Not only did it display dinosaurs and fossils but had tons of display cases with different rocks and minerals, etc. Even glow-in-the-dark minerals in a dark room! It was fabulous!!!
