This little church on the side of the road has some exceptional art. The art isn't ancient. It dates from the mid-1970s. But, it is extraordinary, especially the fresco of Christ's crucifixion behind the altar. The stained glass windows are excellent. Just follow the signs to the Church of the Frescoes.

While in West Jefferson North Carolina, we visited the tiny church of St Mary's. It is a
beautiful and peaceful little church and on the inside some of the most beautiful paintings you will ever see. The paintings were done by Ben Long who paints in the
