This area was definitely a good part of our tour. I really liked seeing the Macaques in this park. I wasn't expecting this! The elevator was a surprise too. Beautiful park!
Simply amazing and very interesting A must, if you're staying in China for a long period, because of the tallest elevator in the world, the crazy shape of the mountains, the Avatar movie scenario, the wildlife (monkeys, butterflies, dragonflies) you can see around you and mainly for the amazing hiking you can have there
Zhangjiajie is really a nice place for visiting, of course the frist thing you cannot miss is the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is one of the most beautiful park in the world. to be honest, there are still a lot of places you also cannot miss when you visit Zhangjiajie. Wulingyuan area was listed on the UNESCO in 1992，including... More
Yes, there was a queue - and it was very long. At first it appeared that it would not take very long, but that was deceptive as it was in segments. After you moved on from one section of the queue you realised that you had another, then another section to negotiate. All in all, it took us three hours.... More
Very well laid out, amazing views. Some of the things to do get very busy with long queues (such as the outdoor elevator), but it is worth it. If you want a quieter area to explore ask for suggestions, once off the beaten path theirs plenty to see and less people in the way.
ok you have seen avatar like everyone else - but its not untill you see it with your own eyes that you can actually believe it really exists. a natur wonder. a tip:on your way up the ques for the elevator are up to 2-3 hours in a narrow tunnel and going back its even worse/ go against the current... If you don't know this area, it's probably best to have a guide or you can waste a lot of time and miss a number of scenic views. We used the Zhangjiajie Backpacking Club http://www.explorezhangjiajie.com over a 4 day time frame. They set us up in two different hotels so a lot of time was not wasted by driving. Wulingyuan... I visited this place for the first time in 1998, now they build the highest elevator in the world against the wall of the mountain, it brings you to 336 meters height in 2 minutes, from here there is a buss service to bring you to the walking routes, it will take several hours to walk around, it is not... We spent half a day here. This comprised on a 5.7km walk to the place and then taking the cable car up to the top and walking down the 3000 stairs to the bottom. 5.7km walk It seems this is part of most of the tours to utilise a couple of hours. Worth it. Nice and scenic and lots of... More
