As we are British, it was nice to see this memorial to our forces whilst we were in Ocracoke. Glad to see they were not forgotten.

We were there for the 3rd time to attend the Memorial that is held each May to commemorate the lost of the British seaman who lost their lives off of the coast of Ocracoke Island during World War 2 helping to protect the USA. It is good to read how these men got here that German U boats were that close to the US. A little concerning. The flag is nice but needs replacing
The story is good and it is something to do, but that's about it. The landscaping was nicely done in preparation for some event.
Very interesting part of history, as we have lived in England for of 22 years. We had a couple of friends in from England and they also found it very interesting. Well kept and very well sign posted. Has small parking lot and is free to visit.
It was a little piece of history to experience,They met a horrible end but found a beautiful and peaceful resting place. We recommend going there
A touching tribute to those who gave all on the NC coast. This is a very somber place to visit, knowing these heros rest so far away from their native land. Well worth the trip, it is a very small area, but great to walk among and reflect and thank those who gave their all for our freedom.
We enjoyed the British Cemetery and went back several times to view it. We were there in May and they had beautiful flower arrangements there to commemorate the four sailors and the others who were never found. It was an awesome site to see.
It will take 5-10 min tops. Interesting bit of history. There is very little parking. We told our kids we were going to take them to England to make it a little more interesting to them. Made for a fun talking point.
At the start of WWII for the US, the Atlantic coast was a Pearl Harbor of sorts for Allied shipping. U-Boats on Operation Drumbeat had a field day attacking unprotected tankers and freighters, until countermeassures finally stemmed disaster. This historic site is a timely reminder of those dark days, and the sacrifice of our British Allies.
