Mr. Bark was an excellent guide, and his horses were very well trained for the four of us, all unexperienced riders. The mountain trail is phenomenal, and we highly recommend this activity. More

During our visit to Maggie Valley, our ride up a trail on the Cherokee reservation was the highlight of our trip. It was the first time my five-year old daughter rode solo. As an earlier reviewer mentioned, this is a wonderful, easygoing horseback ride. The owner, Goodlow Bark, a Cherokee Indian man with long ties to this area, clearly takes great care of his horses. Located just outside Cherokee, these horse riding stables are perfect if you want to experience horse ring in the North Carolina high country.
