Enjoyed the crafts and historic costume exhibits. Fabulous museum store...fell in love with some stained glass pieces. Parking in the adjoining deck is great for a rainy day...no need for coats or umbrellas to reach the entrance. Must return to Charlotte to see the main Mint location as well. More

Their are TWO Mint Museums in Charlotte, the Uptown which is modern, glossy and specializes in contemporary art, craft & design, American art, and special exhibits. It is seriously impressive as LARGE scale is part of this show. The other Mint, on Randolph Rd, is a totally different experience. Expect to see historic costumes, a large display of Ancient American... More

What a remarkable collection of art and other things to admire. One could spend a day there and not see it all. Try it sometime. More

One hour can be enough to visit this small but interesting museum. The break will be better with a lunch at the Alcyon restaurant. Good choice for visitors and good break for shoppers. More

This is a hip museum in downtown Charlotte -- totally worth checking out. I saw a nice exhibit of work by Romare Bearden, and another featuring the work of textile/installation artist Sheila Hicks. Nice gift shop, and a beautiful restaurant, too. Right across a small park from the convention center and the Westin. More

As an educator, I visited the museum this past October, with 24 of my fifth grade students. It was a wonderful experience for all! The staff was very courteous and helpful. The museum itself is absolutely beautiful. I would suggest this museum as a tourist attraction for anyone visiting, or living, in our great city of Charlotte. The display of... More

Nice size Museum. Easy to go through in an hour or so. They have a scavanger hunt for kids, which keeps it fun for them. Wonderful clothing on display. The little gardens on each side of the rear of the museum are such a nice treat. It's also FREE on Tuesdays after 5 pm! More

This lovely museum has an excellent exhibit of porcelain and art pottery, from very old pieces through contemporary works. More amazing are the authentic period clothes on display. Most of us know how people dressed in the 19th or 18th century by drawings and paintings--but here are real clothes, beautifully shown on mannequins. There are also displays including shoes and... I hated it!! It was so boring!!! Not a thing for people under 13. I like the Discovery Place better. It's a fun way to learn not look at a bunch or art and old stuff. More
